Does my parent need a smartphone?
No — and that's the whole point. Avvizo calls their regular phone: a cell phone, a cordless home phone, or even a landline. Your loved one doesn't need to install anything, learn anything, or own any new device. If they can answer the phone, Avvizo works for them.
What happens if they don't answer?
If the call goes unanswered, Avvizo automatically retries up to two more times. If they still don't answer, we send you an SMS alert right away so you can follow up. If you've designated an emergency contact, they'll be notified too. You control all escalation settings from your family dashboard.
Can I read or listen to the calls?
Yes. Full transcripts of every conversation appear in your family dashboard within minutes of the call ending, along with an AI-generated wellness summary and mood signal. Audio recordings are stored securely and are only accessible to you and family members you explicitly invite. Your loved one is always informed that calls are recorded — it's disclosed at the start of every call.
How does story capture work on Story+ plans?
On Story+ plans and above, the AI weaves gentle story prompts into Monday, Wednesday, and Friday calls — questions like "What did your grandmother's kitchen smell like?" or "Tell me about the neighbourhood where you grew up." Their answers are transcribed, themed, and stored in your Story Timeline. Over time, these become the foundation for a printed hardcover memoir book (available as a one-time add-on).
Can I add multiple family members to my dashboard?
Yes. You can invite as many family members as you like to view the dashboard for your loved one — each can set their own notification preferences. On the Family Bundle plan ($79/mo), you can enrol up to four different people, ideal for families caring for multiple aging parents or grandparents.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, absolutely. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. Cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings, and your access continues through the end of your current billing period. Your call history and transcripts remain available if you ever reactivate.
